Directions from Cancun Airport to Villas DeRosa:
When leaving the Cancun airport, head east for one mile. Look for highway #307, the only highway running north and south from Cancun to Tulum. Turn right (south) on #307 and continue for approximately 65 miles (100 kilometers) until you reach the bays of Akumal. Along the way, you will pass the pueblo of Puerto Morelos, which has a gas station and several speed bumps (known as "topes") on the highway. Be cautious of these topes as they can cause damage to your vehicle if you go over them too quickly.
Continuing south, you will reach Playa Del Carmen, a rapidly growing city located 20 miles south of Puerto Morelos. If you need to stop at a larger grocery store, stay in the right lane section and look for the Soriana Mall near the end of the city. After another 12 miles, you will pass the golfing community of Puerto Aventuras, which has two gas stations. Watch out for topes near the people crossing bridge in this area.
Finally, the last 12 miles will bring you to Akumal. The first Akumal exit you will come across is "Playa Akumal," but Villas DeRosa is located 2 miles further south at the exit for Aventuras Akumal. Look for a green road sign above the road that says "Villas DeRosa Resort." Take this exit to your left and continue driving south until you reach the bridge of Bahia Principe. Here, you will find a highway turn area where you can turn around and head back north to Aventuras Akumal.
Once you have entered Aventuras Akumal, follow the dirt road for approximately 1/4 mile. The road will make a 90-degree left turn, and you will see houses on your right. Villas DeRosa is located on the center lots, numbers 35, 36, and 37. Look for signs indicating our condos, restaurant, rooftop bar, beach bar, and office.
