Welcome to this former Cistercian Abbey nestled in the picturesque heart of France, where Saskia and Martijn have been providing exceptional hospitality for over a decade. Set amidst a lush 5.5 hectare park, this historic complex offers delightful guest rooms within the main building, charming holiday apartments in the outbuildings, and enchanting gipsy caravans situated on the forest's edge.

As the day draws to a close, Saskia and Martijn extend a gracious invitation to their guests, encouraging them to partake in a superb dining experience at the table d'hôtes. Whether it be under the festive canopy of a long table outside or within the Grand Salon, adorned with a magnificent fireplace, an exquisite dinner awaits. Additionally, for those with a passion for cooking, golfing, hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying the good life, special arrangements can be made.

At our core, we strive to create an intimate and relaxed environment, where each guest is cherished and a warm ambiance prevails.

Description for Gite

We offer 6 charming cottages, each featuring 2-4 bedrooms, a well-appointed bathroom with a washbasin, bath, and separate shower, as well as a separate toilet. The open plan kitchen is equipped with modern amenities including a vitro-ceramic plate, extractor, combination microwave, large refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment, dishwasher, Senseo coffeemaker, kettle, blender, toaster, and all necessary cooking utensils and crockery. The living area is spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect space to relax. All rooms are fitted with electric heating for your comfort. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in each cottage, allowing you to stay connected during your stay. Please note that there is no TV, encouraging you to unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Outside, each cottage boasts a terrace furnished with teak garden furniture, a parasol, and a barbecue, providing an ideal spot to enjoy al fresco dining and soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Our cottages are available for weekly rentals and include all necessary bedding and towels (1 set per person per week). Please bring your own towels for use by the swimming pool. Additionally, we provide a convenient start package which includes coffee pads, tea, waste disposal bags, cleaning materials, and toilet paper.

To make your departure hassle-free, we will take care of the final clean-up. Pets are welcome in our cottages, subject to prior consultation and a surcharge.

Directions

Coordinates: 01°4607.35 longitude and latitude 45°5933.10. Upon arrival, please drive up to the courtyard and park your car at the designated parking lot after unloading your luggage.

- If you are coming from Bourganeuf, take the D941 road towards Gueret/Clermont-Ferrand. After approximately 300 meters outside the built-up area, take a left onto the D 940A road towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After around 4 kilometers, you will see the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais on your right.

- If you are coming from Guéret, take the D 940 road towards Pontarion/Bourganeuf. After passing the Forêt domanial de Chabrières, take a right onto the D940A road towards la Chapelle Taillefert. Continue on this road for about 18 kilometers, crossing the bridge over the Thaurion. After approximately 500 meters on the left, you will find the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais.

- If you are coming from Aubusson, take the D 941 road towards Limoges. In Pontarion (just before the river), turn right onto the D10 road towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After 2.5 kilometers, turn left onto the D 43 road towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After 3 kilometers, turn left onto the D 940A road towards Bourganeuf. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers, crossing the bridge over the Thaurion. After around 500 meters on the left, you will find the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais.
