This charming residence, located in a peaceful hamlet just five km east of Lalinde, has been lovingly restored and decorated in a minimal modern style with a touch of the orient. It is a perfect retreat for a couple or one person.

The ground floor features a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, equipped with everything needed for those who enjoy cooking. With a gas hob, fan oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge, along with oak worktops and unpolished marble tile floors, this kitchen is a delight. The excellent stainless steel saucepans and top of the range frying pans, along with all necessary utensils, attractive crockery, cutlery, and glasses, ensure a pleasant cooking experience.

On the first floor, there is a bright and airy living room with a wooden floor. Double doors lead to a quiet patio at the back of the house, overlooking a small garden with a sun terrace. The garden is adorned with beautiful flowers and a variety of herbs, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The living room is furnished with comfortable seating and is equipped with sky TV, DVD player, stereo, and an excellent collection of local interest books.

The second floor houses the bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The large and comfortable bed features an orthopedic mattress, and the room is equipped with a fan and mosquito net. Egyptian cotton bed linen, luxury towels, and a power shower add to the comfort and luxury of the space.

This residence is a place where you can truly fall in love with France again. The leisurely pace of life, the stunning countryside, the delicious food and wine, the inviting ambiance, and the friendly locals all contribute to a memorable experience.

The minimum rental period is one week, with bookings available from Friday to Friday. The village of Badefols, surrounded by the ruins of its château and situated between the ‘Périgord Pourpre’ and the ‘Périgord Noir’, provides an ideal base for exploring the whole of the Périgord region. The village itself offers a bakery for fresh bread and croissants, an excellent restaurant with a picturesque view of the river, and a superb cave selling local organic wines. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walks, and there are local markets to explore every day. A recommended list of restaurants is also provided.

Located just 5km from Badefols, this charming house is conveniently situated on the left side of the road, opposite a car park. The drive from Lalinde to Sarlat is a scenic route that takes approximately 40 minutes by car.

For those looking to explore the region, this location offers easy access to some of the area's top attractions. Bordeaux, a beautiful city that rivals Paris in its beauty, is only 1.30 hours away by car and can be reached directly from Dublin with Aer Lingus, as well as from Cork, Edinburgh, Porto, and Bologna with Ryanair. St. Emillion, famous for its wines and quaint town atmosphere, is just 1 hour away.

Sarlat, the capital of Black Périgord, is a perfectly restored old town that showcases both medieval and Renaissance architecture. It is a 40-minute drive from the house. Domme, a larger bastide town with stunning views of the Dordogne River, can be reached in just 30 minutes. Montpazier, considered the best-preserved bastide in the Dordogne and a National Heritage Site, is only 35 minutes away.

Bergerac, known for its wines and rich history, is a short 30-minute drive from the house. The city has a long-standing tradition of wine production and boasts a variety of shops and attractions, including the Récollects Cloisters, now home to Bergerac's Maison des Vins. Issigeac, a medieval village with winding streets and a charming Sunday market, is only 25 minutes away.

With its convenient location and proximity to numerous attractions, this house is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Dordogne region.

Directions

To reach Sarlat from Lalinde, follow the D29 road. After traveling for approximately 5 km, you will reach Badefols. At this point, make a right turn. Look for the house on the left side, just 200 meters away, across from the car park.
