The Mediterranean Ardèche, known for its rustling sound of cicadas in the summer, offers a land of flavors with olive mills and grape varieties. Thrill seekers and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the magnificent gorges of Ardeche and Chassezac valley, with the Vallon Pont d'Arc serving as a well-known postcard view. Other attractions in the area include the mysterious Païolive wood, the exhibition dedicated to the famous Chauvet cave, and the splendors of Orgnac and its caves.

The Ardeche is a place where one can disconnect from urban life and reconnect with wild, unspoiled nature. The diverse landscapes of mountains, valleys, gorges, plains, lakes, rivers, woods, plateaus, and ridge lines make it a paradise for outdoor activities such as caving, canoeing, hiking, tree climbing, climbing, cycling, air sports, and canyoning. Authenticity, beauty, and breathtaking scenery are the defining features of this region with countless leisure activities.

The area also offers many picturesque villages perched on hillsides, such as Thines and Balazuc, with their stone houses made of pink sandstone covered with slate. The village where the accommodation is located is called Joyeuse and is situated 8 kilometers away. It is located on the ridge road, 500 meters above sea level, and is home to 121 people year-round. The village has several notable features, including the Castle Valoubières from the 12th century, the remains of the Abbey of Chabroulières from the 16th century, an exhibition by the Association TRACES, and marked hiking trails.

The accommodation itself has a kitchen that opens up to a large living room and is fully equipped with amenities such as a dishwasher, hob with extractor hood, convection oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, table and chairs, stools, counter, and plenty of dishes. The living room/dining room is 40 m2 and features a fireplace that provides warmth throughout the house during winter. It includes leather armchairs, floor lamps, a coffee table, a radio, a stereo with a CD player, and a variety of classical music CDs. There are also two doors that open onto a tiled terrace with stunning views of the valley.

There are four bedrooms in the accommodation. Room 1 on the upper floor has two upholstered beds of 90 and is tastefully decorated with matching furniture and curtains. Bedroom 2 has a double bed with a retractable part that can be used as a single or double bed and includes a writing desk with a chair. Bedroom 3 has two bunk beds and a drawer bed, with matching curtains and a desk with a chair. Bedroom 4 serves as a rest room and includes a TV, VCR, a chair, a 3-seater sofa that can be used as additional sleeping space, and a cupboard with sliding facades. All the bedrooms have large sliding facade closets and great views.

The spacious bathroom is fully tiled and naturally lit, with decorative wall tiles, storage units with a washstand, a strip light with a shaver point, and a retractable door for towels. It also has a large shower and servant products.

There is an independent laundry room with a hot water cumulus, a washing machine, and an ironing board with a steam iron. A garage is also available with a large fridge that includes a freezer section for storing fresh and frozen products.

Additional amenities in the accommodation include plush leather chairs, a solid oak kitchen, paintings, a grandfather clock, terrace furniture, a parasol, deckchairs, a barbecue, a telephone for incoming calls, and a mezzanine with a reading area and a library with a wide variety of books for adults and children. All windows are equipped with mosquito nets for comfort. The surrounding environment features lavender, flowering shrubs, roses, and fruit trees.

Prior to making a reservation, it is requested to contact the host to provide some information about yourself. The house rules will be provided upon arrival and must be followed. A deposit of 400 will be required, which can be paid by check or cash and will be returned on the day of departure if no issues occur during the stay. Check-in and check-out times must be agreed upon by both parties. Arrival is between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., while departure must be before 10:00 a.m. Pets are not allowed, and smokers may smoke on the terrace while enjoying the magnificent landscape.
