Description for B&B:

Our home, named Ygeia or Hygieia after the Greek Goddess of Health, offers a sense of well-being that is perhaps influenced by its namesake. We instantly fell in love with this house in 2009 and have dedicated ourselves to its upkeep, undertaking most of the renovations ourselves (except for major projects like the pool, which is why it's taken so long!). In an effort to cover costs and share this incredible place with others, we've decided to rent it out as a gite. We sincerely hope that you have a wonderful time and enjoy the property just as much as we do!

We are delighted to welcome you into our home, a charming traditional French country house that effortlessly combines old-fashioned charm with modern comforts. Whether you choose to relax on the exceptional river terrace, explore the lush green garden, or unwind in the cozy and comfortable rooms, we are confident that you will fall in love with this house, just as we have.

Located in Flaujagues, a mere 15 kilometers away from the famous medieval village and vineyards of St. Emilion (a designated UNESCO World Heritage site), our house is also conveniently situated 50 kilometers from Bordeaux and approximately an hour and a half away from the beautiful Atlantic coast and the Bassin d'Arcachon, renowned for its beaches and oysters, as well as the Medoc region, famous for its exceptional wines. Flaujagues lies in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers, a region known for its wines, picturesque medieval villages, and numerous hiking trails. Additionally, there are four golf courses nearby for enthusiasts to enjoy.

The southwest region of France is a haven for food lovers, offering a wide array of culinary delights. From the Michelin-starred Hostellerie de Plaisance in St. Emilion to La Puce, a local restaurant catering to vineyard workers, you will find an amazing diversity of flavors. Indulge in a succulent beef dish or try the local specialty, la Lamproie, a type of fish. From pigeon to oysters from Arguin, the choice is yours, and we will be more than happy to guide you in the right direction. If you enjoy cooking, we can also recommend the best places to shop for top-quality products and wines.

Furthermore, we are conveniently located between two international airports: Bergerac, which is connected to England through Ryanair and is only 40 kilometers away, and Bordeaux Merignac, which is 50 kilometers away.
