Description:

Description for B&B:

Located on the first floor, this spacious room (23 m²) in a medieval stone townhouse offers a high ceiling and two comfortable single beds that can be combined into a double bed. The room also features a modern private bathroom with a large window, double marble basin, corner bath, and WC. Guests have access to the dining room/reception room on the ground floor, as well as a bike park in the cellar. Please note that the second floor is reserved for the owners' accommodation.

While we don't have a garden or swimming pool, we provide everything you need for a peaceful and comfortable night's stay. In the morning, enjoy a substantial breakfast that includes freshly squeezed orange juice, tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, French bread, croissants, butter, jams, and honey. You can choose between a generous breakfast with a selection of cheeses and cold meats (included in the fixed B&B price) or an English breakfast (additional charge of 6 per person) with fried eggs, fried tomato, sausage, bacon, and baked beans. We are also happy to accommodate special requests.

In the surrounding area, guests can enjoy various activities such as biking on Mont Ventoux, exploring the perched villages of Luberon, and climbing the cliffs of Alpilles. There is a supermarket within 700 meters, a fruit and vegetable stand with a nearby bakery within 350 meters, and a delicious restaurant within 270 meters. Other nearby attractions include a renowned climbing site (2 km), swimming and water skiing (1.5 km), a swimming pool in Cavaillon (7 km), massage and beauty salon (300 m), tennis courts (500 m), hiking trails (500 m), dedicated cycle paths, bike rental (7 km), horse riding (9 km), and golf courses (23 km and within 28 km). The coastline with sandy beaches is 60 km away in the bay of Marseille, and there is a balneotherapy facility in Eygières (13 km). Additionally, guests can enjoy wine and olive oil tastings (4.5 km and more).

The town of Orgon, located at the foot of the Alpilles, offers stunning views of the Luberon Massif, the Durance, and Mont Ventoux. The house is conveniently situated near the portico of St. Anne, which Napoleon passed through in 1814. Orgon is rich in history, with a monastery perched on the cliffs of Alpilles, the ruins of the Duke of Guise's castle, and a magnificent church overlooking the town square. It is an ideal base for outdoor activities, with numerous bike paths for road racers, hikers, and mountain bikers. There is also an internationally renowned climbing site nearby, as well as a recreational area with water-skiing on cable.

For transportation, Orgon has its own train station with daily services to Marseille and Avignon. If you are arriving by car, it is best to park just outside the city walls and walk a short distance. If you are arriving by bike, you can store them inside the house on bike racks or in the cellar.

We, the owners, live on the second floor but mainly reserve the rest of the house for our guests. While we respect your privacy, we are also available to chat and offer any assistance or recommendations you may need.

Appréciations pour La Bégude Des Alpilles, Orgon:

Etapes reposante
Review by: Ferretti, Sep 8 2022 9:35AM
Nous avons fait une belle étape très reposante au début de notre périple. La maison est très agréable et la chambre très calme.
Nous en ferons une autre au retour car les échanges avec ce charmant couple sont très enrichissants.

Directions

To reach the village, head towards it from the Avignon, Cavaillon side. When you reach the noticeable roundabout on the West side of the village, go down the main road D7N that leads towards the village. After traveling 500 m, disregard the left bend and keep going STRAIGHT for another 150 m until you reach a mini-roundabout. Take a left turn to pass through the portico. Keep an eye out for a flowery facade on the left side after 30 m.
