Description for B&B:

The Mauguio Carnon, a common area located 10 minutes east of Montpellier, is a diverse and captivating region. With its marshes, rice fields, vineyards, and woodlands, the Camargue region has a story to tell. It is a place where land and water, tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously. The Petite Camargue, known for its unique landscapes, offers a rich history and a traditional economy based on salt production, reed cutting, and viticulture. The area is also famous for its cultural unity, where bulls, horses, and men come together in a single culture. Mauguio, situated between Nimes and Montpellier and close to the A9 motorway, serves as the gateway to the Camargue. The town is divided into two poles, Mauguio and Carnon, with Carnon facing the Etang de l'Or. Mauguio has a significant Spanish community and a rich medieval history. The city covers 7,500 hectares, including the expansive Lake of Gold and vast market gardens, orchards, and vineyards. The Etang de l'Or is a nationally recognized wetland and a haven for birds, boasting diverse flora and fauna. The area is known for its excellent farmland, feeding the Montpellier region with crops such as asparagus, melons, and strawberries. Carnon, with its barrier beach and marina, is a popular summer destination with protected dunes and beaches known for their quality. The city is also home to the Montpellier-Méditerranée International Airport, which connects the area to a vast network of communication and modernity. Whether exploring the natural beauty or partaking in summer activities, Mauguio Carnon offers a unique experience where riders can often be seen traversing the flat lands between the swamps and the city.
