Description for B&B:

The De Battisti family constructed this house in the late 17th century, making it the sole Patrician-style residence in the district at that time. Throughout the centuries, it attracted numerous notable individuals, including Count De Boissieux, Count de Marbeuf, Viscount de Barin, and Sir Gilbert Elliot, the viceroy of Corsica.

In the 19th century, the house underwent a transformation into a luxurious hotel, hosting esteemed guests such as Gustave de Flaubert, Joseph Multedo, the Duc of Orleans, and Prosper Mérimée. However, after the hotel closed, this magnificent location fell into disrepair and remained abandoned for years.

Now, our family has completely restored and converted the house into a guest house known as A Casa Reale. It offers a serene sanctuary in the heart of the city. Guests can enjoy a spacious terrace with stunning views of the nearby sea and dock. The living room spans 70 square meters and features a beautiful bookshelf, a cozy relaxation area with a TV and games, and a grand piano from a Prussian factory dating back to 1904, which was originally gifted to King Leopold of Belgium.

Every detail of the house's renovation was executed with meticulous care, embracing the spirit of authenticity to capture the essence and style of the old patrician residence. From handmade terracotta tiles to meticulously restored moldings crafted by a master plasterer, and century-old cement tiles, a picturesque and distinctive atmosphere has been created. The blend of modern and antique furnishings harmoniously coexist, achieving a perfect balance.
