Description:

Description for B&B:

This impressive and typical Perigord manor house, with a monumental fireplace dating back to 1680, is situated just 300m away from the Auvézère River, a tributary of the Dordogne River. This river used to supply water to an ironworks that dates back to the reign of French King Henry IV. From the Barsac loggia, visitors can still catch a glimpse of the former residence of the Ironmaster, which overlooks the river and is a popular spot for kayaking enthusiasts. Barsac is nestled in the beautiful Perigord Blanc area, renowned for its truffle and walnut hunting grounds. It serves as the central point of a triangular zone that includes Périgueux, the administrative capital of the department, the charming village of Hautefort with its prestigious Château and stunning French gardens, the Museum of Medicine, and the world-famous Lascaux caves.
