Description:

Description for B&B:

Mas de Garrigue is a remarkable historic house that dates back to the 15th century. Once a hunting lodge and fortified farm, it still retains many of its original features, including impressive stone fireplaces, arrowslits, a beautiful 15th century window, stone sinks, majestic oak beams, and even pigeon coops.

With a great deal of love and respect, Sarah and Steven have taken on the task of restoring this house. Their elegant taste shines through, sometimes adding a contemporary twist to the mix. The combination of Irish antiques and art with the enchanting French architecture creates a harmonious and charming atmosphere.

Located in the scenic Midi Pyrenees region of South West France, Sarah and Steven offer warm Irish hospitality to their guests. Sarah's culinary training in Paris and Steven's background in the renowned Irish culinary and hospitable Allen clan make them the perfect hosts. Their passion for food and wine is evident in the sumptuous dinners they prepare, using homegrown and locally sourced ingredients. Each year, Steve raises two "Noir de Gascon" pigs, which Sarah skillfully transforms into delightful terrines, pates, saucisse, and hams. Additionally, Steven ensures the kitchen is always stocked with fresh vegetables, tomatoes, herbs, and even saffron.
