Description:

Description for B&B:

Mas St Joseph, built in 1790, holds a rich history as the former living quarters for the neighboring monastery. Today, much of the original monastery has been integrated into the peach farm, creating additional farmhouse accommodations and various barns. The stunning chapel is located on the opposite side. Despite the passage of time, the mas still exudes a tranquil atmosphere with its spacious rooms and breathtaking views of the peach orchards, hills, and mountains beyond. Each room showcases traditional Catalan brocante items that are available for purchase.

On the ground floor, guests are welcomed by an entrance hallway adorned with exposed stonework and beams. A large refectory table is available for meals when outdoor dining is not possible. There are two guest sitting rooms: the first equipped with satellite TV, a granule burner (heater), and various facilities for guest use such as a desk, maps, regional information, and an electric cool box. The second, larger sitting room also features satellite TV and a DVD player. French doors lead to the Moroccan style patio/courtyard, complete with a barbecue and seating area on one side, and a swimming pool with additional seating on the other side. Guests have the freedom to choose where they prefer to enjoy their breakfast.

We offer three bedrooms and a self-contained studio, each with a brand new en-suite shower and toilet. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and television with satellite channels. Room rates include a generous continental breakfast, and picnic lunches and evening meals can be requested.

Chambre de l'Abbé, formerly the abbot's sleeping quarters during the monastery's time, offers a sunny ambiance and stunning views of the peach orchards and Les Aspres, the tree-covered hills to the South. This room features a comfortable antique double bed and a standard TV with satellite channels. Please note that the en-suite shower/WC room is compact and may not be suitable for larger guests.

Chambre du Canigou boasts exposed stone work and views towards Mount Canigou, the sacred mountain of Catalonia. It offers a Queen size double bed, a big screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a spacious en-suite shower room with WC. This room is ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway.

Chambre du Soleil faces south, providing a light and airy atmosphere similar to Chambre de l'Abbé. It features a super King size bed, a writing desk, a big screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, and a spacious en-suite shower room and WC. This room can also be arranged with twin single beds upon request.

The Studio Catalan, located on the top floor of the Mas, offers views of both Canigou and Les Aspres. It includes a mezzanine level that can accommodate up to 3 people with 2 single beds or 1 super king size double bed, as well as a futon bed. With the addition of a sofa bed in the main room, the Studio Catalan can accommodate a maximum of 5 persons. The studio also features a compact shower room/WC, a dining table, and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle (no stove or oven). Guests can enjoy entertainment with the wide screen TV, satellite channels, DVD player, pull-down cinema screen, and ceiling-mounted digital projector. The room also offers a small library and two comfortable sofas. Please note that due to the stairs to the mezzanine and the low sloping roof, the studio is not suitable for elderly, disabled, or children.

Mas chaleureux
Review by: Sylviane Serra, Juin 14 2019 3:27PM
Hôtes très accueillants, ils font tout pour que l'on se sente bien. L'endroit est magnifique, les petits petits-déjeuners au top, la literie de qualité. On peut s'installer confortablement autour de la piscine. Il y a tout pour passer un séjour magique.
