Welcome to our guest room at the Old Castle, located in the heart of the beautiful Loire Valley. From our property, you can admire the stunning views of the Chaumont-sur-Loire castle and its garden festival. Situated in the charming village of Onzain with a population of 3500, we are conveniently located just fifteen minutes away from Blois, Amboise, Chenonceau, and thirty minutes away from Chambord or Tours. If you prefer to travel by train, the SNCF Paris-Tours serves the Onzain station multiple times a day, with easy transfers available. By car or train, you can reach the capital city in less than two hours.

Our guest room is actually a spacious suite consisting of four rooms, totaling 70 square meters, with a private terrace located in the historic wing of the building. Situated on a 500-year-old wall that is 1.20 meters thick, this floor was rebuilt in the 19th century and completely renovated in 2010. You will enjoy complete independence with private access to the suite.

On the left side of the suite, you will find a room that showcases materials and remnants from the old castle, where breakfast will be served in case of bad weather. Climbing up the stairs, you will enter the main room, which is flooded with natural light thanks to its four openings on both sides and spans over 25 square meters. On the moat side, there is a venerable stone staircase that leads to the suite, as well as a small covered terrace nestled against the remains of the 14th-century tower. Breakfast will be served on this terrace when the weather permits.

The spacious master bedroom features a comfortable 180-bed or two 90 cm beds. Additionally, there is a day bed (a real 90 cm bed) that can potentially accommodate a child. On the courtyard side, there is an office with a fireplace and TV, equipped with a 90 cm bed (with the possibility of an additional bed). On the moat side, there is a small living room followed by a dressing room, which includes a 90 cm bed. This room connects to the bathroom, which has a toilet and bath. If needed, a crib and baby equipment are available upon request.

Outside, you can explore our park, relax on the large terrace (220 square meters), or take a stroll along the secure moat. We offer a boat for your use, under your responsibility, so you can get a closer look at the swans and ducks that adorn our 5000 square meters of grounds. Please note that our furry friends are not allowed, as we have two dogs, Willow and Weston, who guard the moat and its inhabitants.

Our guest room at the Old Castle is approved by "Gîtes de France" with a rating of 3 ears, and we are open for reservations throughout the year. During the season, the Association for Moats "The Arts of Helion" organizes concerts and shows, and as our guests, you will have priority access to these events. If there is any furniture in your room that particularly catches your eye, please don't hesitate to inquire about purchasing it from our Museum-Gallery at the Old Castle.
